Vincenzo D'Ambrosio
1889-1985
Was born at Case Marcone
a small mountain community near the village of
Balsorano 100 km south of Rome.
On March 20, 1907 at the port of
Naples Campania 18 year old Vincenzo D'Ambrosio
Boarded the ss Celtic on his first journey to
America, he arrived at the port of New York on April
1, 1907.
On November 11, 1911 at the age of
22 he married Stefana Monzo the priest was Rev G
Bencivenga and the witnesses were Giusippe
Farra and Antonetta Lippiello and the wedding
took place at the original Saint Anthony's church in
Schenectady.
They went to Casa Marcone in 1919 to serve in the army.
He immigrated to Canada in 1924 on
the ship America the steamship line Navigazone
Generale Italiana , the cost of the passage was 1700
lira,
the Ship left Napoli
on May 1, 1924.
He worked as a stationary engineer in Barrie Ontario lived a long healthy and happy life.
